Annual payment
With annual payment you pay for your Templ hosting yearly instead of monthly. You can pay either by invoice or by card, depending on what suits you best.

How the annual discount works
You get one month free per year: you pay for 11 months of hosting but receive credit (balance) equivalent to 12 months.
The credit is added to your Templ account when the annual payment is made, and is then used automatically to pay your ongoing costs. You can see your current balance and a history of charges by logging in to My Account.
How the balance works
Every month, the current monthly cost for your Templ account is deducted from the balance.
If the costs for your Templ account change, this affects how long the balance lasts:
- If your costs increase, the balance decreases faster and the next annual payment or invoice may be needed earlier than 12 months. Examples: you add more websites or domains, you upgrade your hosting plan, or your website uses more bandwidth than what is included.
- If your costs decrease, the balance lasts longer and the next annual payment or invoice happens later than 12 months.
Paying by invoice
The invoice is sent from a separate invoicing system, so it doesn't appear in My Account. Use the invoice number as the payment reference so we can match your payment to the invoice. When the invoice is sent, credit (balance) equivalent to 12 months of hosting is added to your Templ account.
Hosting, including any cost for extra disk space, is included on the invoice. Some costs don't appear as separate lines on the invoice. They are instead deducted automatically from the prepaid balance the invoice added to your account. For example:
- Domains
- Extra cost for bandwidth if your website exceeds the included amount
Since these costs consume the balance, they can make the next invoice arrive earlier than 12 months.
Paying by card
With annual payment by card, a yearly payment is created and charged to your saved payment card. After the payment is completed, the credit (balance) is added to your Templ account. The payment amount is based on the websites and services on the Templ account at the time of payment.
When the balance starts to run out, the next annual payment is made automatically via your saved payment card. For the payment to be made, a valid payment card must be registered on the account.
FAQ
Why don't I see my invoice in My Account?
Invoices for annual payment are created and sent through a separate invoicing system, so the invoice itself doesn't appear in My Account.
When you pay annually, we instead add credit to your Templ account calculated to cover roughly 12 months of hosting, based on the websites and costs on the account at the time of invoicing. Each month, the current monthly cost is deducted from that balance - these monthly deductions are what you see in My Account.
How do I know if my invoice payment has been received?
Invoice payment status is tracked in our separate invoicing system, so it isn't visible in My Account.
If your payment has been received and matched to the invoice, you won't hear anything more. If an invoice is unpaid past its due date, you receive a payment reminder.
If you've already paid but still received a reminder, the payment may not have been matched to the invoice yet. This usually happens when the invoice number was missing or incorrect as the payment reference. Contact support with the payment date and amount, and we'll check it against the invoice and confirm.
I pay by annual invoice but was asked to update my expiring card. Will I still get an invoice?
Yes. If you pay by annual invoice and have Sweden as your billing country, that continues to work the same way. The card isn't used for the annual invoice itself - all charges go through the invoice, and the card is only kept as a backup payment method.
