How billing works

We automatically charge your account once a month. This page explains when the charge happens, what it includes, and how payments, credits, and VAT work.

When you're charged

You're charged monthly on the anniversary of your first payment - the day you upgraded your account from trial to paid. For example, if you upgraded on the 12th, you're charged on the 12th of every month.

The monthly charge

The monthly charge consists of:

  1. Your account's current monthly cost. This is the cost of the plan of each of your sites at the day of the monthly billing.
  2. Payment for upgrades made during the previous month. If a site is upgraded in between monthly payments, the prorated cost for the upgrade will be added to the next monthly bill.
  3. Payment for overage the previous month. Monthly bandwidth overage is calculated on the 1st of every month, and added to the next monthly bill.
  4. Any additional services ordered during the previous month.

If the account has any credits, these are deducted from the total before your card is charged. If the credit exceeds the bill, the remaining credit carries over to the next month.

Upgrades and downgrades

  • Upgrade a site mid-cycle and the prorated cost for the remainder of the cycle is added to your next monthly bill.
  • Downgrade a site mid-cycle and the unused difference is returned to you as prorated Templ credit, which is automatically used on future bills.

Payment methods

Monthly billing is charged to a saved credit/debit card. See Change credit card for how to update it.

If you prefer paying by invoice, that's available with annual payment for customers with Sweden as their billing country.

Failed payments

If a charge fails (for example an expired or declined card), we retry the payment automatically and email you about the failure. Update your card in My Account to resolve it - the outstanding amount is charged on the next retry. If payment keeps failing after repeated retries and reminders, your websites may be suspended until the balance is settled.

Invoices and receipts

Where you find your payment history depends on how you pay.

Card payments

You can see your payment history and receipts by logging in to My Account.

Invoice payments

Paying by invoice is available with annual payment for customers with Sweden as their billing country. The invoice is sent from a separate invoicing system, so neither the invoice nor its payment status appears in My Account. See Annual payment for how invoicing and payment matching work.

VAT

Prices are shown excluding VAT. For customers in the EU, applicable VAT is added to the bill. Businesses with a valid VAT ID are billed under the reverse charge mechanism, so no VAT is added.
