Email on Templ

Yes, you can send and receive email from your own domain on Templ, for example [email protected], at no extra cost. Outgoing mail works out of the box via our SMTP service; incoming mail is forwarded to an inbox you choose, such as a free Gmail account. The one thing we don't host is full mailboxes (inbox storage on our servers) - for those you pair your domain with Google Workspace or any external provider.

Outgoing email

Your Templ-hosted site can send email out of the box. Our servers provide a preconfigured SMTP service, so transactional emails such as order confirmations and password resets work with no setup from you.

You can also use these SMTP settings in any email client that supports a custom SMTP server, such as Thunderbird or Apple Mail. You'll find them in the Templ Panel under Email → SMTP Settings. For sending from your own address via Gmail, see Configure Gmail.

Incoming email

We can forward incoming email to an address of your choice. Combined with a free service like Gmail, this lets you both send and receive email from your own address, for example [email protected].

You can set this up for as many addresses as you like - there is no limit on the number of forwarding addresses.

Full mailboxes with Google Workspace

If you need more than sending and receiving email, we recommend the external Google Workspace. Using Google Workspace requires you to change the DNS settings of your domain. If you are not sure how to do this, please contact us and we will assist you.

You can use any email service provider you want. You are not limited to our Gmail solution or Google Workspace.
